CHESS won €3.9m funding under the Horizon2020 MSCA, and the project commenced in September 2015.

It is Europe’s first networked Connected Health PhD training programme and recruited 15 PhD students internationally to cover 4 main areas of research and training in Connected Health, including care, data, change, and sustainability.

There are 18 partner organisations from 8 European countries, including universities, companies, and healthcare providers, involved in CHESS.

15 successful PhD students, also known as Early Stage Researchers (ESRs), were recruited into the programme and formed the core of the research activities.
